Native to West India, Allspice plants produce small brown berries, similar in appearance to black peppercorns but somewhat larger, that are dried to create sweet and spicy spheres popular in Middle Eastern and Caribbean dishes. The English coined the name "Allspice" because they found that this spice showcased the flavors of cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg simultaneously. Whole allspice is traditionally used to bring fantastic flavor to marinades and pilafs, and is a popular addition for pickling. Every package contains 2.6 oz.
