They never delivered the order

The order was never fulfilled due to there being no communication from the deli until 4 hours after the scheduled delivery after contacting Mercato 2 times an hour apart being told there was a delivery person on their way an hour earlier, yet still even at the 4 hours late, the delivery person called me to tell me the deli never even filled the order and had me speak to an employee who hadn’t even checked to see if the items were in stock (they were not!) so at 4 hours after the scheduled delivery time which was supposed to be 8p and it was now 12am on a weekday when I’m trying to sleep I had to deal with an order that was never fulfilled and the deli said they don’t even fill orders until the delivery person arrives … never ordering from this location again & I don’t believe they should be participating with Mercato with their lack of ability to use the system. They also told me they couldn’t see my order, but actually could as they told me they don’t usually actually open “the system” to look at order details so I had to make them actually “open” my order to see it… on top of it all, they charged me as soon as we hung up on the phone, so I then had to contact Mercato & the poor delivery person had to do all that work at midnight without any pay for a delivery due to the deli’s miss handling of the order and not being able to fulfill any of my order. (I do ask that Mercato pay the delivery people when things like this happen, as it’s not the delivery people’s fault that deli’s like this take advantage of the system. This has made me very unsure of ever using Mercato again.
