South Loop Market was established in 2009 by two brothers who were local residents since 2007. Their concept was born after they grew frustrated with having to deal with large crowds and long lines at the nearest big-box grocer only to purchase a handful of items. Convinced that many of their neighbors shared the same frustration, they decided a local market was simply a necessity. Thanks to the tremendous support from the South Loop residents, the company expanded. Today there are four locations throughout the South Loop, as well as other neighborhoods. Each location providing its local community the opportunity to purchase quality, essential, and specialty items in a convenient and welcoming environment.

Evanston, IL3 months agoTwo days ago I placed an order with South Loop Market and everything about it was excellent: the shopper was friendly and called to let me know that two items were out of stock and did I want replacements (which is in accordance with my instructions). Also, the delivery person was prompt and polite and delivered my order exactly as the tracker had indicated. The order (also from South Loop Market) which was just delivered was the opposite of my previous order experience: the shopper ignored my instructions and did not contact me about three of my items that were out of stock and THE SHOPPER REPLACED MY BACON WITH A BRAND I DID NOT WANT! Additionally, the shopper did not ask about a replacement for my salmon (I would have asked for sausages) and they said the store was out of distilled water, which frankly, I find hard to believe. Also, the tracker was not operating and when I phoned the store to see what was happening about my order, I was told that my order was out for delivery! Then a few minutes later the delivery person whom the store said was called Nerdin, Calle to say he was in our lobby. Nerdin was rude and hung up just as I was about to ask him a question. The final insult about this order was that my green onions had not even been placed in a produce bag, but had been carelessly tossed into the delivery bag with larger items and therefore smashed. I am very disappointed in today’s service and I would like my tip for te rude delivery person withdrawn.

My order was promptly and competently filled and, per my request, I was called when two items I had ordered were not available. The lady with whom I spoke was friendly and helpful in offering me substitutions. Also, the gentleman who delivered my order arrived within the time slot which I had selected and was very courteous. I will definitely be shopping with South Loop Market again.
