We're putting a twist on the usual fairytale: this time the dragon's getting rescued, too. A too-small size and teeny red dots on the rind due to high winds means traditional grocery stores didn’t want these yellow dragonfruits—but we gladly rescued them, since we know this “flaw” is just surface-level and these beauties are still plenty tasty. It might be named for its spiky exterior, but inside the dragonfruit's nothing but sweet. Cube and freeze to add to smoothies, or halve, then scoop out with a spoon to enjoy it on its own—no bowl necessary.
